What is Tadalafil?
Tadalaflio is a drug.
1. Medical functioning
-it is a selective phosphodiesterase inhibitor-5 (PDE-5). This enzyme is responsible for degrading nitrogen monoxide (no)-cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the vascular smooth muscle. By inhibiting PDE-5, tadalaflio increases the concentration of cGMP, which causes smooth muscle relaxation in the blood vessels of the penis. This allows greater blood flow to the penis, facilitating erection.
2. Clinical uses
-it is mainly used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It has been an important option for those men who have difficulty achieving or maintaining a proper erection.
-it has also been investigated in some cases for the treatment of certain cardiovascular conditions, since the vascular relaxation that it produces may have implications for cardiovascular health, although it is not approved exclusively for this purpose.
3. Precautions and side effects
-you may have side effects such as headache, dizziness, facial blush, blurred or colorful vision (blue effect), abdominal pain, among others.
-it should not be used in combination with nitrates, as interaction can cause a drastic drop in blood pressure, which can be dangerous.
